Heaton Valves Africa confirms ISO 9001:2000 countrywide

Today’s industry leaders know that efficiently managing the lifecycle of their business assets means harnessing the power of the latest in cutting-edge, innovative technology – to not only streamline business processes and reduce costs – but in order to guarantee the highest levels of inspection, quality control and customer satisfaction in the long-term.

Premium and expert valve stockist, distributor and solution provider, Heaton Valves Africa, recognised that the right technology could only add value to their business processes.

Needing solutions, the company decided to implement the innovative Assettagz technology to enable the organisation to deliver the highest standards possible as achieved daily in their operating warehouses.

Bar coded or RFID valve tags and mobile devices are used to load, inspect, manage and dispatch valves from their warehouses with quality, efficiency and service excellence. This is known as the Assettagz system, and has been expertly supplied to Heaton Valves by the exclusive Assettagz solution provider. We are using the Assettagz technology,” said Heaton Valves QA Director, Sipho Zini, “we are able to ensure quality control inspections are performed to the highest standard, and we then are able to deliver this level of quality to our customers. Simultaneously, our warehouse efficiency has dramatically improved as well as our overall supplier performance.

“As each valve arrives at our warehouses, it is uniquely identified using a barcode or RFID tag. These tagged valves are scanned instantly and identified using handheld computers. Alerts are inbuilt into the system to ensure all valves undergo an inspection on arrival and dispatch, and all this inspection data captured allows Inspection Certificates and Reports to be immediately available and viewed centrally on the web-based application via any internet enabled computer,” Zini said.

Roll out of the new technology was seamless, and after importing Heaton Valve’s current data from its various branches into the Assettagz database, the system was ready to go. Employees were trained and the application was wholeheartedly received by everyone for its simplicity and ease of use.

“As a distinguished valve solution provider to all facets of industry, we realised that technology can only better our work environment,” said Warehouse and QA Manager, Peet Koekemoer. “Using Assettagz, we have improved inspection processes, individual valve traceability, and have achieved customer satisfaction.”
