In fact the Spare Parts in Orton MV valve are almost never needed, as very rarely there is a need to repair the integral body seat. However there are critical applications where:
- abrasive fluids
- corrosive media
- high number of cycles
- frequent thermal stresses
may cause damage to both sealing components (seal ring and body seat). While in the basic design the seal ring is replaceable, the welded overlay seat is an integral part of the body, thus can not be easily repaired. With the introduction of the bolted seat Orton has extended the valve life on the critical applications as well, giving the possibility to replace both body seat and disc seal ring at site without the need of any special tool or qualified repair facility. Finally, this evolution increased the choice of suitable seat materials, over the limited traditional ones that may only be welded to the base body material. |
